Story Behind The Boards

ABOUT THE ARTIST:  Born & raised in Glens Falls NY, son to a Master Carpenter and payroll account clerk. A 27-year Navy Civil Engineer Corps (SEABEES) veteran.

GENESIS OF THE BUSINESS:  During COVID “Lock-Down” in 2020; I started to tinker in my garage gluing together pieces of wood and shaping them into surfboards for Christmas presents. I started seriously thinking that I could turn this ‘hobby’ into a retirement job.  My three requirements for my retirement job were 1) Low Stress 2) NO e-mail 3) and be my own boss.  This hobby sparked my desire to return to my roots of working summer construction with my father.

MISSION:  I want to pay homage to Hawaii’s rich heritage since this Aina and the support of LOCAL small businesses has given so much to me and my family.

ABOUT THE BOARDS:  Each work of ‘Wooden Wall Art’ is a hand crafted one of a kind piece; made from tropical, exotic, and reclaimed wood; comprised of 20+ steps which take at least one week to complete depending on the board design.
